Massachusetts SIMS users are moving to WebAssembly on Saturday May 17th, 2025.
Good afternoon,
WellSky will transition our Production database environment to the new WebAssembly versions of WellSky Aging & Disability (A&D) and Service Delivery Manager (SDM) on Saturday May 17th, 2025, between 10:00 AM ET and 1:00 PM ET.
For the agency network, please share the schedule and instructions with your provider organizations.
The WebAssembly versions of A&D and SDM have already been deployed to other WellSky customers across many other states.
Following the transition, users will continue to login through the WellSky Customer Portal (https://Portal.WellSky.com) as normal. The portal page will not appear any differently. The difference is that when a user clicks on an application link from the portal to launch either Aging & Disability or Service Delivery Manager, the application link will point to the WebAssembly versions of the software.
This transition to the WebAssembly versions of A&D and SDM offers several important advantages:
1. The new version simplifies workstation configuration requirements
2. Users will no longer need the Silverlight browser plugin
3. Supported Browsers now include Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (without IE Mode)
Below are the steps you will need to complete the transition for your organization.
Please prepare to complete these steps ahead of our transition to WebAssembly for start of business on Monday, May 19th.
For IT Staff
1. Suggestion to hold off on uninstalling Silverlight. Should we encounter problems with the WebAssembly deployment, we may need to roll back to the Silverlight version.
- Update your custom site lists.
Note: this work would only be required for organizations that maintain their own site lists to enable IE Mode for users who will be using Microsoft Edge as their browser.
- If your organization uses the WellSky site list to trigger IE Mode in Edge, you do not need to change anything.
- If you cannot edit your organization site list, we recommend your users switch to the Chrome browser after the transition to WebAssembly.
If your organization has set up a custom site list to support Microsoft Edge in IE mode, you may need to adjust your site list so that these new URLs DO NOT render in IE mode after the transition to WebAssembly.

3. Confirm your firewall settings
Check to see if you need to adjust your firewall settings to allow access to the new URLs listed above.
4. Update your PC configuration process for setting up new users/workstations going forward. This change in process is only required for new users or users who are using new computers.
Please review the new WebAssembly PC Config Guide to provide new users with optimal settings and/or to configure browsers other than Edge. Current users who will continue using Edge do not need to make any changes.
For End Users
- Make sure you are logging in through the WellSky Customer Portal.
Everyone should log in through the WellSky Customer Portal (https://portal.wellsky.com) and use the application links to launch WellSky Aging & Disability or Service Delivery Manager. Remind users about the portal username and to know their password. (WellSky has seen an increase in password reset requests upon the Web Assembly transition, likely because users are saving their password in their browser, which is not recommended.)
- If you use Mobile Assessments, be sure to import all assessments and consumers from your device prior to the weekend of the 17th.
- Clear your browser cache before your first login to WebAssembly.
Please see these instructions for clearing browser cache
- For A&D users, be aware of changes to the Dashboard, Export Grid function and Copy/Paste controls. For A&D users, be aware of changes to the Dashboard, Export Grid function and Copy/Paste controls. While the overall functionality remains, users will see some changes with how these features look and work.
Review the changes to the WebAssembly dashboard and the Export Grid function. These documents are also available for download from the customer portal.
Also, use CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy and paste, the right click menu is no longer supported.
When saving reports from the applications, the files will save to the downloads folder on the PC instead of allowing users to browse and save to specific folder locations.
- For Service Delivery Manager users, be aware of changes to the Work Queue, Export Grid function, and Copy/Paste controls, as well as new Service Delivery Upload options and new Gener Identity and RUCA is Rural fields.
These changes are outlined in the Service Delivery Manager WebAssembly Changes document.
For any issues that users encounter, we would ask the GAFC organization to contact [email protected].
